About Us

Coach Bennis is in his third year as the baseball program director at The Episcopal School of Dallas. Prior to arriving in Texas, he was a head coach at the collegiate level (Broward College). Bennis spent 6 years coaching collegiately before taking over ESD coming out of the Pandemic. He has years of experience both in recruiting as well as placing student-athletes at colleges and universities across the country. His coaching style can be described as honest and fair with the "big picture" at the forefront of every decision made. Develop the person, develop the player, and sustained success will follow. Prior to his coaching career, Coach Bennis was a two way player at Florida Atlantic University.

Coach Perez, comes to us from professional baseball where he most recently pitched for the Washington WildThings. Perez was a two way player and 5 year starter at Barry University in Miami Florida. In his off-season's, Coach Perez has coached in collegiate summer leagues, high level select summer ball, and trained some of South Florida's best young talent.

Coach Merrell is a local product. He graduated from Pearce in 2017 and then attended Lamar community college in 2020-21. Coach Merrell has trained with Tread Athletics and Kova sports over a two year period. He is currently a private instructor at D-Bat Addison and is aan assistant coach at ESD. He also recently received a Driveline certification in pitching.
